Do I get a tax refund from an IRA distribution received back in 2005? - ira distribution calculator

In 2005, I received a distribution from an IRA. The IRA has been my mother and she died in 2005. The money was anywhere from 16 to 17,000. I have not filed a tax return in 2005. I want to do as soon as possible, and I am curious as to whether they expect a refund of the money? Thank you!
